Melessie Clark is an actress from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who enjoys theatre, modeling, pageantry and serving Jesus. Her love for the stage began at the age of three when she began performing at dance recitals and later singing in her local NAACP Youth Choir, Joyful Praise. After performing in her high school musicals and receiving multiple performing arts awards, she attended Carnegie Mellon University Pre-College Musical Theatre Summer Program in 2010.
Melessie recently received her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre, graduating with honors from Point Park University Conservatory of Performing Arts in 2015. There she also received the Outstanding Senior Award in Theatre. Holding several titles in pageantry, including National American Miss Pennsylvania 2014, she has won several awards in the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageant, of the Miss America Organization. Through pageantry, Melessie’s enthusiasm for the camera has led to her modeling part-time.
After working with Pittsburgh CLO in Gypsy and The Wedding Singer the summer following her college graduation, Melessie moved to New York City to pursue a career in theatre and film. Most recently, she was seen in A Sign of the Times with Delaware Theatre company and this February you can find her at the New Hazlette Theatre with Kinetic Theatre as “Minnie” in An Octoroon!
